Whether you have upgraded to a newer model, replaced a stick that stopped working or bought a second one for another room, the process to set up IPTV on a new Firestick is straightforward. Your subscription is linked to your login details, not to a particular stick, so moving to new hardware is mostly a matter of installing the app and signing in again.

This guide covers the full move: preparing the new stick, installing your player app, logging in, recreating your favorites and getting the old device ready to give away or recycle.

Before You Start

  • Find your subscription email with your Username, Password and Server URL.
  • Make a note of your favorite channels from the old device, if you want to recreate the same list.
  • Have your Amazon account email and password ready to sign in on the new stick.
  • Check your subscription terms for how many devices can stream at the same time, if you plan to keep using both sticks.

Step 1: Set Up the New Fire TV Stick

  1. Plug the stick into an HDMI port and connect the power adapter that came in the box.
  2. Follow the on-screen steps to pair the remote, connect to Wi-Fi and sign in to your Amazon account.
  3. Go to Settings > My Fire TV > About and choose Check for Updates.
  4. Install any updates and let the stick restart.

If you are upgrading to a 4K model, plug it into an HDMI port on your TV that supports 4K.

Step 2: Install Your Player App

  1. Open the Amazon Appstore or the Find option on the home screen.
  2. Search for IBO Player Pro and install it.
  3. Move the app to the front of your app row so it is easy to reach.

Step 3: Log In with Your Existing Details

Use the same login details you used on your old device. You do not need a new subscription to change devices.

  1. Open IBO Player Pro and choose Login with Xtream Codes API.
  2. Enter your Username, Password and Server URL from your subscription email.
  3. Wait for the channels and TV guide to load.

Typing on the remote is slow, so pair the Amazon Fire TV app on your phone and use its keyboard. Our Fire TV Stick remote tips explain how.

Step 4: Recreate Your Favorites

Favorites are usually stored in the app on each device, so they do not move automatically. Use your notes to add your regular channels back to favorites, and check that the TV guide shows your local time.

For a refresher on favorites and guide settings, see our article on how to use the IPTV EPG TV guide.

Step 5: Prepare the Old Stick

If you are keeping the old stick in another room, nothing else is needed, apart from checking your subscription terms on simultaneous streams. If you are giving it away or recycling it, reset it first so your accounts and details are removed:

  1. On the old stick, go to Settings > My Fire TV.
  2. Choose Reset to Factory Defaults.
  3. Confirm and wait for the reset to finish.

A factory reset removes all apps, settings and sign-ins from that device, including your IPTV app and login.

Setting Up a Second Room

If the new stick is going into a bedroom or den while the old one stays in the living room, a few extra steps help both rooms work well:

  • Check how strong the Wi-Fi signal is in the new room by playing a channel for several minutes.
  • Give each device its own favorites list based on who watches in that room.
  • Confirm your subscription terms cover streaming on both devices at the same time, if you plan to.
  • Label the remotes if they look the same, so they do not get mixed up.

Tips for the New Setup

  • Use the HDMI extender from the box if the stick sits behind a wall-mounted TV.
  • Turn off featured content autoplay to keep the home screen calm.
  • If the new stick is a 4K model, review our Fire TV Stick 4K settings guide.

Troubleshooting

The Login Is Rejected on the New Stick

Re-enter your details carefully. A single wrong character, capital letter or extra space stops the login. Our Xtream Codes login guide lists the most common mistakes.

The Old Stick Still Shows My Details

Make sure the factory reset finished. When it is complete, the stick starts with the initial setup screens.

Both Sticks Stop Playing at the Same Time

If both devices are streaming at once, check your subscription terms on simultaneous streams and contact our support team if you need more.

Step-by-step instructions for other devices are on our installation page.
